How to choose a water repellent for stone and paving
To protect stone, brick, concrete or paving, first identify the material, desired finish and application conditions. Ready-to-use products and concentrates yield different amounts of working solution, so the price per canister alone is not a useful comparison.
1. Decide on the finish
To preserve the existing appearance, consider water repellents without a stated decorative effect. For a richer colour, compare treatments with a wet-look finish. Test the appearance on a small area of the actual material batch.
2. Compare the formulations
A ready-to-use product can be applied at its supplied volume. A concentrate must be diluted as instructed: AQUAISOL is specified at 1:2 and TIPROM K at 1:3. When planning a purchase, distinguish the consumption of working solution from that of concentrate.
3. Check consumption on site
Porosity, the number of coats and the application method all affect actual consumption. Clean the surface, make a test application and use the rate in the chosen product’s instructions. IPANDA’s universal calculator can estimate the volume required from the area.
